Australia's Leading Linux & Open Source Solutions Company

Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Australian first as Linux reaches out to business

November 1998, Red Hat's Australian support partner, Cybersource,
today announced The Linux Business Breakfast.

This free event will be the first ever function in Australia, held
specifically to make business more aware of Linux. It will cover the
background of Linux and Open Source, and it will also include an
exhibit to show the state of the art of Linux and how it applies to
business.

Cybersource's Red Hat Linux Support Manager, Richard Keech
(rkeech@cyber.com.au), said "We're aiming to jump Linux across that
credibility gap in the mind of business. We have proof positive
that Linux has well and truly gone beyond being for propellor heads
only."

Oracle's Brett Hannath (bhannath@au.oracle.com) will be presenting at
the breakfast and explaining why Oracle is now supporting Linux.

The intended audience of this seminar is IT management, who may have
read about Linux, and may want to learn more and see Linux perform.

This event will also be the first Melbourne public showing of the
latest version of Red Hat's Linux, version 5.2 which was officially
announced on 2 November. Red Hat 5.2 raises the bar in terms of
stability and performance with Red Hat Linux.

In the exhibit, there will be on display some of the more significant
recent commercial application releases for Linux, as well as the
exciting Cobalt Qube, a turn-key, web-administered, Linux-powered
server system.

The exhibit will also demonstrate the following on Linux:

    RAID storage,

Enterprise-level DBMSs from Oracle and Sybase,

    NT-style file and print serving.

Cybersource's MD, Con Zymaris, said "Given the recent revelations of
Microsoft's internal assesment of Linux and Open Source, this event
will let business see what all the fuss is about, and show why
Microsoft now regards Linux as a serious competitor."

The Linux Business Breakfast will be held:

at the RACV Club, 123 Queen St, Melbourne
07:45 am on Tuesday 17 November.
